Ladies & Gentlemen, introducing airBaltic Shoes!

We at airBaltic love shoes, airplanes and having fun! So we decided why not combine it all and that’s where airBaltic branded and airplane-looking shoes enter the story. Today, the first, brand-new and shiny, shoes have landed at our office, and we want to give one of the pairs to you!

Here’s what you have to do: Guess how many airBaltic Shoes long* is the hallway of airBaltic headquarters office at the Riga Airport! Post your answer in the comments of this article. The poster of the first closest guess is the winner!

Competition is open until Tuesday, November 15, 17:00 Riga time (GMT+2). Each participant is limited to 1 answer—so if you leave more, only the first answer will count as a guess.

* if you place the shoes (size 43—44) one after another along the hallway, how many shoes do you need for the whole length of the hallway? We will get the number by measuring internal perimeter of the office.

Reindeer Baby Girl Gets a Name!

We finally know the name of the little reindeer girl who lives in Riga Zoo! Most of you thought that the best name for her is Amelia, in honour of aviation pioneer Amelia Earheart.

The author of this beautifull name is Toni and he now is officially godfather of Amelia and reiceves an EUR 75 gift voucher for his flight with airBaltic. Congratulations, Toni, we will contact you personally via e-mail.

Thanks to all of those creative people who suggested names for the little reindeer girl. It was really hard for us to choose the five shortlisted names because there were so many goodies. Now its time to settle things straight and choose the most suitable of five most inspiring names.

So here you godecide which name is THE ONE for our reindeer girl and vote for it until August 8, 23:59 (Riga time, GMT+3)! The author of the winning name will get EUR 75 gift voucher for his or her next flight with airBaltic and will recieve the honour of becoming the reindeer baby’s godfather or godmother!

You once helped reindeer Lācis by guessing when he will shed his antlers. Now Lācis has got new antlers, but again he needs your help! A little baby reindeer girl has arrived in reindeer’s family. She has beautiful eyes and big plans for the future, but there is one problem—she still has got no name.

Therefore, happy dad turns to you asking for a favour—give a name for his baby reindeer girl! Post your version of name in comments until July 30, and maybe you will become reindeer girl’s godfather and win a gift voucher worth EUR 75 for your next flight with airBaltic.

The jury from airBaltic and Riga Zoo will choose ten most suitable names from all of your suggestions. Then, you will have the final word by voting for the best one of those ten!

Thanks to everyone who participated in our first “What’s inside airBalticBag” competition. We enjoyed your smart, funny and witty guesses, and we’ve decided to repeat the competition!

The rules stay the same—guess what has been placed inside the airBalticBag, post your answer in the comments section of this blogpost, and you might win a cabin size airBalticBag from ultra light Samsonite B-Lite series. Just like last time, the poster of the funniest guess will receive a special prize.

Competition! Guess How Far the Javelin will Fly

Javelin throw is the combination of many things – strength and muscle and coordination and rhythm! Just like BalticMiles loyalty program is a combination of many partners from many industries – travel and leisure and finance and more!

Today best Latvian javelin thrower, Vadims Vasilevskis, will throw the javelin as far as possible and (will attempt to) set a new personal/Latvian record. By setting the new Latvian record Vadims will earn 100 000 BalticMiles Points.

Guess how far the javelin will fly by submitting your entry in the comments below and the number closest to the actual result will receive 100 times more of that amount in BalticMiles Points! Deadline for your bets is today, June 2, 18:00 Riga time (GMT+3). If there will be two or more correct answers Points will be split even.
